Sarangani Schools bag National Brigada Eskwela Awards 2021


Glan School of Arts and Trades bagged the 2021 Brigada Eskwela Best Implementing School in the Secondary Mega Schools category during the 2021 National Brigada Eskwela Awards held at the Iloilo Convention Center, Iloilo City yesterday. 

Josie Teofila Quijano, Vocational School Administrator 2 of GSAT received the award together with Regional Director Carlito D. Rocafort, CESO IV, Senior Education Program Specialist, and Jay Dubalan of the Social Mobilization and Networking section. 

In addition, Francisco A. Cagang Integrated  School received a special award for Best Home Learning Space and Malapatan National High for Best Brigada Eskwela Collaboration at the School District. 



Moreover, Regional Special Awards are also in store for Datu Pangolima Integrated School for ALIVE Implementing Schools, Datal Basak IP School for IPED Implementing Schools, and Leopoldo D. Dacera Integrated School for schools in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.

Evelyn Cagape of Malapatan NHS was also recognized as Best School Brigada Eskwela Coordinator.

The Brigada Eskwela Awards seeks to recognize the efforts of school leaders in engaging the community in helping build a safe and child-friendly school environment for the learners. 

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has incorporated reading program in its focus through Brigada Pagbasa, which also encouraged partnerships in preparing a home or community learning space that is safe and conducive for learning.

SPAA Meet 2023 kicks off; seeks to develop skills, values through sports

The Sarangani Provincial Athletic Association (SPAA) Meet 2023 has officially kicked off in Alabel, Sarangani Province, on March 11. To avoid disrupting classes, as mandated by the Central Office, the competition is being held over two weekends. The games started on March 11-12 and will resume on March 18-19, 2023. "The conduct of this sports competition at all different levels is our way of providing an opportunity to our schoolchildren to discover, to harness, and to develop their innate talents and skills in the field of sports," Schools Division Superintendent Gildo G. Once sullied by the presence of a left-leaning organization, the establishment of the DepEd-run Datal Basak IP School and the road project, connected the once-isolated community to imminent progress.   Although it remains unenergized, the community relies on solar power to provide light at night.
