DepEd Sarangani implements stricter safety protocols

In the interest of protecting the health and safety of all teachers and employees, DepEd Sarangani is implementing stricter safety protocols.

Pursuant to Regional Memoranda 31 and 32 series of 2020 and in accordance with the Executive Order No. 27 from the Office of the Governor Steve Chiongbian-Solon, DepEd Sarangani issued Division Advisory No. 109, directing district heads, school heads and unit heads to observe a 2-day skeleton workforce and 3-day work-from-home arrangement effective August 24.

Schools Division Superintendent Gildo G. Mosqueda issued the "Zero Contact Policy" and "Window Transaction Only" policy as precautionary measures.

"We discourage teachers from going the Division Office personally, they can transact with the Division Office online or through their administrative assistants," Administrative Officer Irma May Dinasas, AO V explained during the the Special Division Management Committee Teleconference on August 26.

The Administrative Services Section released a list of contact numbers and email addresses, which teachers could use for their online transactions.

In addition, the Personnel Unit also issued a schedule of frontline services in order to avoid crowding and to ensure that the assigned personnel are on duty as part of the skeleton workforce.

"We don't want teachers to visit our office only to find out that the personnel in-charge of their transaction is not on duty. That is why we posted a schedule of frontline services on our Facebook Page," Personnel Officer Rehanee Sambuto, AO IV said.

For the Division Office personnel, Sambuto announced that a qr-code-based attendance and location checking mechanism is being implemented and employees who are found to be violating the work-from-home arrangement shall be dealt with accordingly.

Meanwhile, as per Regional Memorandum 32, series of 2020, all teachers are mandated to work from home and not to report to school to limit their movement and potential exposure to the threat of COVID-19.
