Sarangani takes spotlight in 'Handang Isip, Handa Bukas!' press briefing

Sarangani was featured in today's episode of "Handang Isip, Handa Bukas!" press briefing with DepEd Sec. Leonor Magtolis-Briones.

Board Member Jess C. Bascuña, Chairperson, Committee on Education, Science and Technology of Sarangani Province represented Gov. Steve Chiongbian-Solon in said press briefing.

Hon. Bascuña highlighted the partnership between DepEd Sarangani, the local government units, and other stakeholders in preparation for the different learning delivery modalities.



DepEd Sarangani's innovation, LR on WHEeLS or Learning Resources on WiFi Hub for Expanded e-Learning caught the admiration of DepEd officials as well as of the viewers.





"With the continuing support and commitment of our stakeholders, the Department of Education will always do the best we can to make sure that education continues in Sarangani. We can make it happen in these challenging times if we work hand in hand," Bascuña said as he ended his presentation.

The povince's slogan for education, "Sulong Sarangani! Sulong Karunungan!" now reverberates to the whole nation as over 7k Live viewers witnessed it on DepEd Philippine's Facebook Page.

In a world where knowledge is the cure, the Philippines faces a challenge in ensuring its students have access to the most effective learning tools.  While traditional methods may not be fully optimized, the Department of Education's (DepEd) recent initiative, "Catch-Up Fridays," as stated in DepEd Memorandum No. 1, s. 2024, offers a promising approach. DepEd Sarangani receives awards for professional development and resource efficiency

The Schools Division of Sarangani was recently honored with two prestigious awards for their exceptional performance in professional development for both teaching and non-teaching staff.  During a ceremony held at the Greenleaf Hotel in General Santos City yesterday, the DepEd Regional Office XII awarded SDO Sarangani the major awards, Gawad Kagalingan and Gawad Bagwis. The Gawad Kagalingan is given to the SDO that exhibited exemplary performance in the implementation of professional development for teaching and nonteaching employees. Meanwhile, the Gawad Bagwis is awarded to the SDO for its exemplary performance in the implementation of programs, projects, and activities on personnel performance management, Rewards and Recognition, talent development, and successful planning.
