FILIPINIANA, KATUTUBONG KASUOTAN TAMPOK SA PAGBUBUKAS NG BUWAN NG WIKA

Sinalubong ng Dibisyon ng Sarangani ang pagbubukas ng Buwan ng Wika sa pamamagitan ng pagsuot ng Filipiniana at Katutubong Kasuotan at mga palamuti.

Sa pangunguna ng Curriculum Implementation Division, naging makulay ang unang flag ceremony sa buwan ng Agosto.

Unang ipinagdiwang ang Linggo ng Wika tuwing ika-27 ng Marso hanggang ika-2 ng Abril ayon sa mando ng Presidential Proclamation No. 35 na nilagdaan ni Pangulong Sergio Osmeña noong 1946.

Itinaon ang pagtatapos ng selebrasyo sa kaarawan ng kinikilalang "Prinsipe ng Manunulang Tagalog" sa si Francisco Balagtas na kilala rin bilang Francisco Baltazar.

Inilipat ni Pangulong Ramon Magsaysay ang pagdiriwang tuwing ika-29 ng Marso hanggang ika-4 ng Abril noong 1954 at muling inilipat sa ika-13 hanggang ika-19 ng Agosto sa bisa ng Proclamation No. 186.

Itinaon naman ang pagtatapos ng selebrasyon sa kaarawan ng "Ama ng Wikang Filipino" na si Pangulong Manuel Quezon.

Ginawa namang Buwan ng Wika ang Agosto sa sa Proclamation 1041 na nilagdaan ni Pangulong Fidel V. Ramos noong 1997.

Ngayong taon, ang tema ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika ay, "Filipino at mga Katutubong Wika:Kasangkapan sa Pagtuklas at Paglikha."

In a world where knowledge is the cure, the Philippines faces a challenge in ensuring its students have access to the most effective learning tools.  While traditional methods may not be fully optimized, the Department of Education's (DepEd) recent initiative, "Catch-Up Fridays," as stated in DepEd Memorandum No. 1, s. 2024, offers a promising approach. Catch-Up Fridays aims to bolster reading proficiency among Filipino students. This focus on a foundational skill is a positive step in the right direction. DepEd Sarangani receives awards for professional development and resource efficiency

The Schools Division of Sarangani was recently honored with two prestigious awards for their exceptional performance in professional development for both teaching and non-teaching staff.  During a ceremony held at the Greenleaf Hotel in General Santos City yesterday, the DepEd Regional Office XII awarded SDO Sarangani the major awards, Gawad Kagalingan and Gawad Bagwis. The Gawad Kagalingan is given to the SDO that exhibited exemplary performance in the implementation of professional development for teaching and nonteaching employees. Meanwhile, the Gawad Bagwis is awarded to the SDO for its exemplary performance in the implementation of programs, projects, and activities on personnel performance management, Rewards and Recognition, talent development, and successful planning.
