DepEd Sarangani wins big at the DepEd EdTech Awards 2022

The Benitez Hall inside the Teachers Camp Baguio City was filled with Cheers of delegates from the delegates from Sarangani Division as they bagged several recognitions at the DepEd EdTech Awards 2022, June 22. DepEd Sarangani took home the honor as the Most Outstanding Division Office for DepEd TV due to the support it provided in the production and dissemination of DepEd TV episodes in various teaching modalities. "We will use this recognition to continue to strive to provide high-quality education through technology to Sarangan students, especially those in last mile schools," said Curriculum Implementation Division Chief Donna S. Sarangani Schools bag National Brigada Eskwela Awards 2021

Glan School of Arts and Trades bagged the 2021 Brigada Eskwela Best Implementing School in the Secondary Mega Schools category during the 2021 National Brigada Eskwela Awards held at the Iloilo Convention Center, Iloilo City yesterday.  Josie Teofila Quijano, Vocational School Administrator 2 of GSAT received the award together with Regional Director Carlito D. Usec. Cabral, Asec. Garma highlight policy adjustments on school effectiveness

 "Let us make it more harmonized and not an additional burden." Dir. Wilfredo Cabral, OIC of the Office of the Undersecretary for Bureau of Human Resource and Organizational Development explained the necessity of changes in the policy of the School-Based Management (SBM) implementation. In the 4th Regional Management Committee meeting of DepEd Region XII held today in Libungan, North Cotabato, Cabral said that the SBM should not just be a collection of MOVs. "It must be felt," he said. "We are revising the SBM so we can revitalize the intent of RA 9155" he added. The intent, according to him, is decentralization. Interview, demonstration of applicants for new teaching positions continue; English Proficiency Test to be conducted soon

The hiring process for teaching positions in DepEd Sarangani continues as applicants participate in interviews and teaching demonstrations conducted in the different municipalities. Pursuant to the Division Memorandum 44 series of 2022, which sets the guidelines for the recruitment, selection and placement of personnel for kindergarten, elementary, junior high school, and senior high school teaching positions for the school year 2022-2023, the School Screening Committees, Division Sub-Selection Committees, and Division Selection Committee have started the verification of documents, conduct of interviews, and rating of the applicants’ teaching demonstrations. Last February 8, 2022, the personnel unit led by Rehanee Paidumama-Sambuto, AO IV, conducted a virtual orientation of all applicants. Head of ICTS-EdTech Mark Anthony Sy challenged the current concept of a computer laboratory when he talked about the Digital Rise Program during the opening program of the Training and Upskilling of Teachers on “LR on WHEeLS” and Enhancement of Content in the LMS, yesterday. Showing a photo of a usual computer laboratory in a Philippine public school, he said, “Ganyan ang ating concept [ng computer laboratory], pero binasag ‘yan ng pandemya.” He added that computer laboratories in schools should be able to provide an opportunity for learners to learn using distance learning modalities. “With the help of our innovative ITO in Sarangani, it [was] all made possible,” he added.
